Upton on Severn succumb to a determined OC's on Saturday 21st October

A great performance from OC's today. A 44-17 victory.
The weather conditions could have been the excuse for errors today but we didn't need excuses. Handling was good and the ball flowed well with the boys showing a determination we hadn't seen too much of this season.
The supporters were treated to a ten try game today with OC's scoring eight of them. The pressure came from OC's from the start and they were unfortunate on a couple of occasions. After five minutes Josh Soesan crossed for the first try and Josh James would add two more in a fourteen minute purple patch. So, a dry spell for the remaining twenty minutes of the half and Upton were able to peg us back with a penalty goal and a converted try to trail by only five points at the interval. This was surprising considering the possession and attacks we mounted on Upton.
OC's enthusiasm and determination were clear from the restart. The strong wind was generally across field but slightly in OC's favour for the second period. Ten minutes of play and Sam Farrington's try triggered another purple patch. Five tries came in the following twenty minutes from Sam Farrington, Jordan Kelly , Steven Abbey and two wonderful push overs from the forwards.
Upton had the last word with a converted try just prior to the final whistle.
The complete squad need accolades today but man of the match went to No10 Steven Abbey with a special mention for Marc Marren returning to the club after a couple of years. I thought that the combination at 10, 12 and 13 of Steven Abbey, Mark Hyslop and Marc Marren worked extremely well together and skipper Elliot Sheepy was everywhere providing a great link from the back row to his confident threequarter line. The Colts continued their good form and came away from Kenilworth with a 25-5 victory.

ABUSE OF MATCH OFFICIALS-SANCTIONS DOUBLED 2016: ALL PLEASE NOTE

Please read and note the latest letter from Warwickshire RFU Disciplinary Committee which sets out increased sanctions. Everyone should read this - not just PLAYERS but SPECTATORS and COACHES as well. PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT: SPECTATORS (you know who you are) BARRACKING FROM THE TOUCHLINE CAN INCITE THE PLAYERS. The officials do a difficult job and without them we would not be playing rugby - remember regardless of what you think they are always right - just accept it and quietly walk away. If you get carded you are letting down your team, even more so if you pick up a ban which is now likely to be extremely lengthy so READ about it HERE TAKE IT IN in and REMEMBER IT DURING THE GAME - do not let down your team and club.
