1st XV dominate at Manor Park on Saturday 9th December

An excellent performance from the OC squad on Saturday.
OC's were on the scoreboard within three minutes before Manor Park had touched the ball.
Manor Park did come back later in the game but the damage was done with a five try haul and four conversions and a penalty added by Alex Telfer.
36 - 7 the final score.
OC's top the table but it is all very close in this league. The top six sides have all won six games and the top eight teams have scored five or more victories.
There was a lot to get behind today with the OC performance. The coaching staff were pleased and it was the icing on the cake for Al Roberts to celebrate his birthday by going top of the table.
The game started at pace with great runs from Adam Barnett and Mike Ryan. Barney had been out for a few weeks but his defensive tackling from the back row was superb. The opening two runs brought the penalty and Alex Telfer slotted from the Manor Park ten metre line.
0-3
Ten minutes played and the attacks keep coming. Josh James is put away on his left wing and the ball is recycled for Steven Abbey and Mark Hyslop to combine with Steven crossing unopposed.
0-10
Mohamad Tahir Mohamad Farhan (Han from now on) is everywhere. Playing in the centre this week he shows great hands and injects pace whenever he has the ball. And did I say he tackles everything whatever size or shape also. We are on the rampage again. From a lineout on the right from Josh Kent we drive and release. Steven Abbey is held fifteen metres out but Jordan Kelly picks up and bustles to the line for a score within the half hour.
0-17
We get some impressive turnovers today. Mike Ryan, Barney and Elliot Sheepy are working hard at the breakdown. On this occassion Mike Ryan robs the ball and Steve Farrell on the left makes good progress. We have a scrum on the Manor Park 22 Jordan Kelly fires the pass to Steven Abbey who pops it to Mark Hyslop coming at pace. Despite the attention of most of the Manor park side Mark bustles his way to the line and touches down about two metres from touch.
0-22 after after about 40 minutes elapsed time.
A bit of pressure from Manor Park now and we are on our own line but a robbed lineout allows us to clear to midfield.
We're in the second period now with a lineout on the right about thirty metres out. Aaron Tolley takes it well and before any maul could be formed the ball is in the hands of Mike Ryan who races through unopposed to take the score to 29-0 and secure the important bonus point
Manor Park have their ten minutes or so. OC's temporarily gone off the boil. The MP pressure gets them to ten metres out and a couple of recycled charges opens up a gap for a converted score.
7-29 after about 20 minutes of the second period.
The OC's bench is now on the field. Jack Butler on the wing, Tom Clitherow in the back row and Mathew Kanes in the second row. Mathew was making his first appearance in the first team squad. We are fortunate to have talented youngsters who can step up to the demands. They all played well and will all be pressing for staring places.
Mike Ryan rounded off his excellent performance when he picked up from a scrum about 30 metres out and his pace was too much for the defence and he went over for his second try of the afternoon. It's hard to focus on individual peformances. Very few errors from anyone. The back row of Adam Barnett, Josh Soesan and Mike Ryan were formidable. Looking forward to the Woodrush encounter at home next weekend.

ABUSE OF MATCH OFFICIALS-SANCTIONS DOUBLED 2016: ALL PLEASE NOTE

Please read and note the latest letter from Warwickshire RFU Disciplinary Committee which sets out increased sanctions. Everyone should read this - not just PLAYERS but SPECTATORS and COACHES as well. PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT: SPECTATORS (you know who you are) BARRACKING FROM THE TOUCHLINE CAN INCITE THE PLAYERS. The officials do a difficult job and without them we would not be playing rugby - remember regardless of what you think they are always right - just accept it and quietly walk away. If you get carded you are letting down your team, even more so if you pick up a ban which is now likely to be extremely lengthy so READ about it HERE TAKE IT IN in and REMEMBER IT DURING THE GAME - do not let down your team and club.
